"Molly Aunty Rocks" by Ranjith Sankar portrays Molly aunty played by Revathi as an energetic and jovial woman. The first part of the movie shows us the character of Molly and her day today activities packed with light hearted humour. Molly is a kind of person who keeps high value for civic sense and she gets disturbed by its downfall. Molly an NRI who decides to fly back to USA after finishing some of her property deals in her hometown comes across Pranav Roy an egoistic Income Tax officer played by Prithvi Raj. Pranav traps Molly in an income tax related case. The second half shows how Molly with the mental aid of his husband played by Lalu Alex and by the tricky lawyer (Mamukkoya) deals with the case and tries to solve it outside the court.

We may feel that Revathi, the veteran actress lacks her spontaneity in some of the scenes but still she never loses her charm. Prithiviraj did well as an arrogant bureaucrat. Lalu alex, KPAC Lalitha, Krishnakumar and Lekshmy Priya did justice to their roles. Mamukkoya's character of a lawyer who acts so foolishly to shadow his brilliance is somewhat different in his career but he fits to the suit well.

The story is not bad, mostly because of its noble cause but the screenplay could have been done much better to fix the audience to their seats.  Ranjith, now onwards not a newbie in the business should work much more on his directorial skills. So I would suggest watching Molly for Revathi and for the crew of talented actors. Finally "Molly Aunty Rocks" doesn't rock as much as expected.
